25+ 90s Kid Nostalgia Pics Drinking Surge and Playing Pokemon Blue (May 24, 2025)

The 90s were a goofy time. It seems like everyone was just a little sillier. Things weren't as serious. Fast food restaurants looked like mini amusement parks, not regional branches of huge banks. Television was bright and splashy. Sneakers often had neon colors on them. Our paper cups had Jazz (literally). It feels like the saturation was turned up. Now everything is gray and washed out. Maybe it's because iPhone cameras make everything look flat and boring. Maybe it's because we grew up and no longer see the world through the eyes of a child. Maybe it's because the 90s were actually more visually interesting. Whatever it is, I miss it and I want it back. 

Nostalgia is a complicated emotion, though, because you don't always remember everything with complete accuracy. Sometimes nostalgia makes you remember things better than they were. And if you go too hard in that direction, you'll lose sight of the present.

  • But today we're leaning in. We're micro-dosing what it was like to be alive in the 90s through images and text. Because that's our right to do as adults. We can spend our free time however we'd like to spend it. That is one thing that has gotten better with age…
