I wish I were kidding when I say that I know people that use it to generate responses during arguments with their partners…

This is one of the worst feelings ever; but it is also probably universal. I'm sure even Neolithic cave people had the same exact experience.

23 Classical Art Memes Illustrating the Ins and Outs of Intimacy for Medieval Maidens (May 26, 2025)
Logically, I know that I wouldn't have survived very long in the Medieval era. For one, I am allergic to stone fruits, and there were no antihistamines at the time. While stone fruits originated in China, they were pretty widespread around Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire due to the spice trade. Still, if I somehow managed to avoid having an allergic reaction to peaches, there is a whole slew of relatively tame diseases that would've gotten to me due to the lack of medical advancement.
Despite the grim reality of Medieval and even Renaissance Europe, I can't help but find myself romanticizing this time period. I have a whole Pinterest board filled with beautiful illustrations of chivalrous knights, morose maidens, fearsom dragons, dainty unicorns, illuminated manuscripts, Greek nymphs, and secret gardens. If walking through the Classical Period section of your local art museum touches something in your soul, scroll down below for some memes that hilariously merge the paintings of the past with our modern problems.
