World Wild Web: 25 Wildlife Memes Hilariously Proving the Wilderness is Wholesome

We don't think hoomans should be afraid of the wilds. It's true that we shouldn't intrude the wildlife, and to not encroach on nature, but we shouldn't be afraid of what's out there. Nature is amazing, and the wildlife within it is absolutely wholesome. Here are some of the cutest reasons why we think wild animals are the most wholesome of the animal kingdom:

  1. Otters hold hands when they sleep so they don't drift apart in the water. Sometimes they even wrap themselves in kelp to stay anchored together!
  2. Elephants are incredibly empathetic. They comfort each other when distressed by stroking with their trunks, and they've been seen mourning lost loved ones.
  3. Crows bring gifts to humans they like. Shiny trinkets, buttons, especially if someone feeds them regularly or treats them kindly.
  4. Some penguins propose with pebbles! A male penguin will search for the smoothest, most perfect pebble to present to a female he wants to "marry".
  5. Bonobos use kindness to resolve conflict. They're one of the only known primates to use social bonding instead of aggression to solve problems. Even more than humans…
