24-year-old makes stepmom cry at anniversary dinner when she gives thanks for their “blended family” despite her being at fault for his parent’s divorce: “You helped blow up the family”

We all have our baggage, whether it's from our mothers, father's, sisters, brothers, stepparents, teachers, or evil ex boyfriends, everyone has something. I once had a friend who wanted to date someone who wasn't experienced in dating. She thought it was like a blank slate, that the person would be bereft of emotional weight and baggage, but oh boy was she wrong. Turns out having experience being in a relationship probably helps one be a better boyfriend, and that despite not being in a relationship before, this dude had quite a lot of baggage. 


We're human beings, are emotions are complicated, chaotic, and even the most well-behaved or seemingly collected individuals are still a web of neuroses at the end of the day. 


In the story below, the protagonist is a man who's parents are divorced. His father had an affair and one thing led to the other. Despite his stepmom ruining his mother's life he tries to maintain a decent relationship with her.
