Relationships are all about compromise: half-and-half pizza toppings, surrendering in the duvet tug-of-war, and letting your partner have the aux cord (even if one more Britney Spears throwback might push you over the edge). 

Although whenever finances are thrown into the mix, that is when things get… well, a bit more complicated. We'll do whatever it takes to make our partners happy, but when that means biting our tongues, is it time to grab the marker and draw a big, bold line? The majority of couples don't share a bank account before marriage—and many don't even do so after. So, each individual should have the right to decide what to do with their hard-earned cash. However, when a relationship becomes more serious and most aspects of life start to intertwine, is it truly fair to share everything except one's finances? I guess that's the intricate debate.

Now, how can we make a situation even stickier? Try adding living together into the big bowl of "what a mess." What does one do when they believe saving money as a couple should be the priority, but their partner doesn't quite share the same ideas?
