No matter who you are and how much money you have in your bank account, nobody likes to be blindsided into spending money they never planned on spending. It doesn't matter if it's $5 or $500, it's never fun to let that money go when you were not expecting that to happen.

When you are out with friends, finding yourself having to spend money without warning happens quite often. Who here wasn't dragged on a spur-of-the-moment adventure that ended up being quite costly? Who here didn't have to pay their way out of a night that has gone wrong? It happens, and usually the only thing to do is accept it and move on (and maybe send your troublemaking friend a Venmo request later).

However, sometimes you find yourself paying money for something you were not planning on spending simply because someone withheld information from you, and that is more frustrating than any money-spending scenario we can think of.

That is what happened to the college student who wrote the story below.
