Ospov A teacher in one of my fiancée's classes got an email from a student asking why/how he got an F on some paper. She accidentally sent an email detailing why his paper was so bad and his exact grade (in the 30s I think) to the entire class. She realized her

mistake and sent out another email to the class asking them not to read the email. Everybody read the email.

[deleted] My co-manager at the coffee shop got into an altercation with a barista via email. The barista, feeling insulted, forwarded their conversation to the entire barista staff (intentionally). I sent him a private email
  • 04
lambasting his behavior, and said, "note how I'm sending this privately, out of respect". Accidentally clicked "reply all" and sent that email to the entire staff. Easily the most hypocritical thing I've ever done.

Calamintha A supervisor sent me and the rest of the people I work with an email, lambasting me (for something that was out of my control). It was generally a ride and unnecessary email, but she was a stressed out lady, and I never minded her taking
  • 06
her stress out on me in r de emails, which is probably why I was the most frequent target. A coworker sent me a cheer up the boss is nuts and you are doing a good job email. But she sent it to everyone else too, include the boss she called nuts in the email. Next staff meeting was awkward.

Superfish1984 This guy at my husband's company sent his wife a poem (that he wrote) for their anniversary and accidentally sent it to every single employee in the company (100+ people).
  • 08
The poem was super sappy, but really sweet. The replies to the email were pretty funny - everybody was pretty nice about it and sent their congratulations on their anniversary. A few people relied along the lines of "Thank you so much for the poem, I love you too ΧΟΧΟΧΟ".

U... I work for an online retailer that holds customer- centrism to the highest esteem. Everything revolves around the customer, and we do almost anything we can to meet their needs. Cue a guy on my team sending out a Cracked article on "10 Ways Customers are Wrong." He intended to send it to our
  • 10
team, but he sent it to every customer service site in the world. When I saw the email notification pop up I looked over at him and watched his face go red. He only got written up, but it was enough to get him sent home for the day.

CptnFoxMcloud I was drink and i sent a message to all my contacts "If i wake up a Dinosaur, i won't spare you"

boxes_full_of_pepe I was talking to my buddy about a girl I had gone on date with the previous evening. My buddy wanted to see a picture of her, so being a normal person I went on her facebook, scooped a pic and emailed it to him. Turns out instead of emailing the picture to my buddy, I accidentally emailed the pic to my boss.
  • 13
They share the same letter of their first name so in my email contacts they were right next to each other and I missed. My boss is an elected official and I had just sent him a downloaded facebook picture of a local girl with literally no explanation in the email.

ptolemy18 A few years ago one of the admin assistants sent out an email about an award management had given out to someone I really didn't feel deserved it. I hit forward and sent it to a friend saying "That's crop" or something to that effect. Only I didn't hit forward, I hit reply. Got written up, but not fired.
  • 15
Mojo Blue I accidentally sent an email about how much I hated my supervisor -to my supervisor. I went into detail about all the ways he sucked and how lazy he was. Yeah it was extremely awkward after that.
  • 16
bloodguard Back a few companies ago we had an all company email from the CEO about a summer outing to Great America (local theme park). One of the managers did an accidental reply all pointing out that they could save
  • 17
money if they announced the staff reductions before hand and listed the names of all the people they were going to pitch under the bus. It was kind of an awkward few weeks.
  • 18
theothergirlonred... I meant to forward, but instead I clicked 'reply'. I was trash talking how stupid a patron sounded and I meant to forward the e- mail to my supervisor to handle... and instead, I clicked reply....
  • 19
[deleted] I wanted to forward a confidential e-mail from a lawyer I had been speaking to about 5 years ago to a friend who had a similar legal issue. Instead of hitting "forward", I accidentally replied to said lawyer's e-mail with "here you go.. this is confidential, btw".

tylerjarvis Just last night, actually. My wife got an email from one of her professors that said,
  • 21
"Catherine, I know a C isn't your ideal grade, but hey, at least you passed my class. You're fortunate that I passed you at all." Problem is, Catherine isn't my wife's name, and my wife got an A. But at least we all know how Catherine did.

Yikes... be careful who you message!

bohemiandude Got into an argument with my ex, wrote a pretty nasty text about her, meant to send it to a mate. Of course, it ended up going to her. It wasn't pretty.

S... A while back at work our CEO sent an email to the helpdesk complaining about a printer problem that he was having. This printer did this a couple times before in the year. I thought I just replied to helpdesk, but accidentally did a "reply to all." What I intended to only go to helpdesk was, "That stupid sh printer is acting up again, if you just
  • 24
turn the thing off, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on, it will start working again." A few minutes later, the CEO replies, "I turned the printer off and back on. It's working again. Tx." Little did I realize that I sent my reply to the CEO, VP, and helpdesk. Oops. Surprisingly, nothing else came of it.

dresdenologist Someone in a company I used to work for responded to a company-wide e-mail regarding Lost and Found policies with a question about a lost loading cart that they wanted found. It was bad enough that the sender failed to see the part of the mail about e-mailing a specific address privately, but then another reply all
  • 26
appeared with the message: "Hey man, forwarding this to you in case you didn't see. We probably want to return the cart, just quietly leave it out in the hall. On a good note, they'll probably be so happy to get it back they won't notice we skimmed a bunch of their printer paper shipment with it. :o)" Things escalated from there.

[deleted] A few years ago someone sent out an email to the wrong list at work, work being a state on the east coast. The email was about an offering for a diesel generator. Anyway, within a few minutes people began to "reply to all" asking to be removed from the list. Others were replying to all asking people not to reply to all. As the morning went on
  • 28
it got better - people were actually saying stuff like "if you don't stop sending me these, I'll let my supervisor know, who will get you fired", as if some secretarial supervisor in El Armpito, NC will be able to get anyone fired. I finally blocked those
  • 29
emails from going out to my staff but allowed them through to my hotmail account. The next day I created a throwaway and did a reply all and asked if the generator was still available, which started the trend all over again. Good times.

tone_hails A co-worker replied "Go f yourself" to a court reporter after the reporter came through with extremely valuable information. The reporter responded, "Are you serious?" He said, "Sorry, meant to send that to my boss."

mckinnon8825 My local China buffet sent an email out for its holiday specials... Cc'd to all of our private emails... From all of its franchise's email subscribers... Literally 10s of thousands of people now have my name and email address...

[deleted] Not an accident but a student at my university last year put out an email telling us that she lost a pink water bottle near the university, it led to a I of emails about pink water bottles.

DomoDog Just finished a group project last week, and the prof sent our group a peer evaluation file to fill out. I was the first to do it, attached and replied. I didn't click "reply all", but apparently the school email system forwards it to everyone in the list regardless. I only

[deleted] This will probably get buried, and isn't exactly what you're asking for, but one time I was trying to get an ex girlfriend to come out for drinks with some people with the intention of getting back with her, I meant to
  • 37
text another female friend to say "hey want to come out and wing man me so i can get back with ex" and I accidentally sent it to the ex girlfriend....she responded with "you sent that to me eggmcben" I face palmed for hours.

[deleted] At work, I hit reply all to an email apologizing for the delay in delivering our product on time because there was a typhoon in Taiwan. I sincerely apologized for the inconvenience.
  • 39
Unfortunately, the auto correct picked the wrong word and I apologized to the sender for his "incontinence" and copied about a dozen people.

Buff McBeefArms I was part of a very prestigious "Gold Medal" swim club in high school. Shortly before my senior year, the facility was going to be closed down and moved to a location further way. I decided not to follow them and I switched to a different club that was closer to me (I would have had to drive over an hour

and a half every day if I didn't switch). I found out a few months later that the head coach of my former team had compiled a list of all the swimmers and ranked them according to talent, loyalty and ability to pay higher fees. The higher you were on the list, the harder the

Who wouldn't want a Rolex for that price?

[deleted] I work for a large company. Like 40K people. We all got a spam message about Rolex watches for $25 if we clicked the link. The link was a virus of course. People hit "reply all" complaining about not getting their watch. It was going to the entire company. I hope they got their email rights take away. I think you should have to prove your ability to use "reply all".

This evil genius had a great sense of humor

bluemoosed Reply all to a university mailing list with 30,000 students. It set off a with hundreds of people also replying to the mailing list, to the point of clogging the mail server. One particular genius told the mailing list the solution to stop receiving the e-mails was to reply to the mailing list address with the phrase,

"The turkey flies at midnight". It didn't fix anything, but it did point out who should perhaps be taking remedial coursework in computers/internet technology before graduating.

    So awkward...

AxnJxn5133 I was working customer service for a company, and a sales rep sent me a complaint from a repeatedly problem customer, with the customer copied on it. I replied back a response and
  • 48
ended it with "she's a real peach, isn't she?" Replied to all. Oof. Sales rep spent the next day doing gymnastics. over the phone to try to spin to the customer how my comment was a compliment. Ugh.
  • 49
IveGotaGoldChain Not exactly a reply all, but we had a meeting with a sign in sheet. Someone jokingly signed in as deeez. The person in charge of the sheet sent an email to EVERYONE with the subject line "who is Deezz?" If you want credit for attendance Deezz needs to stand up. We are a large office with over 100 people. The email went out to VPs etc.

fork_in_eye My best friend was let go from her job on the pretense that the department could no longer afford interns. A few days later, she was accidentally cc'd on an e- mail to all the interns about setting up hours for the new year. Not only was she fired and lied to about it, her supervisor forgot to remove her name from the listserv.

[deleted] A girl in my sorority was in the process of being kicked out for financial and behavioral issues that none of us knew about. One of our executives somehow accidentally managed to send the email to every single member saying that if she resigned quietly they wouldn't make her pay her fees and fines and would not cite her meeting with the

standards board when asked about her resignation. She didn't notice that we'd all been sent it and replied back to everyone with expletives and her opinions about the exec and standards boards. Good times.
