Arguments over baby names are a tale as old as time. Most parents want their tiny tot to have a unique edge to their personhood, while some might be inspired to name their kids after the ancestors who came before them. Either way, those same parents probably prefer having their child's name be their name only—cousin Jennifer really couldn't think of another name besides "James"? I find that hard to believe…
The dilemma lies in the inherent competition that is involved with baby-naming. It shouldn't exist, sure, but it does—this story and many others make that abundantly clear. Why do folks feel the need to "steal" names that another parent couple is thinking about naming their child? Is it an envy thing? Perhaps, a FOMO thing? I have no idea… The parents in this next story, who hid their future child's name, chose to change their child's name. The father's sister-in-law chose to name her baby, who was born first, the name they were planning on using for their child. Yes, the sister-in-law did this on purpose. Scroll below to read about the family's reaction.
