Don't bite the hand that feeds you, or better yet, don't insult the homeowner of a home you want to crash at for any period of time. When asking for favors from people, they have every right to say no. It's better to give them every incentive to help you, especially if you're the MIL in the story here.

"You're a glorified babysitter": 31-year-old stay-at-home-mom refuses to let mother-in-law crash at their place after insulting her parenting, husband takes his mom's side
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. People love to diss on stay-at-home moms. Actually, people love to diss on women in general for basically anything they do. A man with a job is like a knight in shining armor, providing for his family and being so brave to stride through work everyday. A woman going to work? Never enough. Being a stay-at-home mom? Basically unemployed. Being both a full-time worker, and a full-time parent and caring for the home is much more than a full-time job. People might want to argue that feminism had made great strides, which it has. But in so many ways we are still living in the 1950s. The expectations for women are still to be a beautiful, loving, and perfect mother, but with the added expectation of being a full-time worker.
In the story below, the protagonist is a stay-at-home mom with two young babies, both under 2-years-old. Her MIL apparently doesn't respect her line of work, and she makes that apparent.
