This kiddo needs to learn sooner or later that the world doesn't revolve around him! If he wants to play by himself, he needs to wait. Otherwise, he has to learn to share. As an only child, I was always terrified of seeming selfish and jumped at any and all opportunities to prove anyone otherwise.

It's no wonder this kid feels so entitled with a mother that would insist on something like that.

11-year-old refuses to share PS5 with cousins while he stays at their place over summer, aunt and uncle refuse to put a TV in his room despite parents' demands: "You guys all know how screen time works at my house"
All children learn that different families have different house rules, and if you're a guest, you will also likely be subject to those rules. I grew up in what people have dubbed a "ingredients household." That means by parents didn't really buy any ready-made food or processed snacks. If I wanted to eat something, I had to make it myself. This was a little difficult for my friends to coneptualize when they would come over for a sleepover, but they got through it pretty okay. They could rest easy knowing that they'd wake up in the morning, head home, and eat as many Poptarts that their hearts desired.
In our story today, a couple hold firm to their house rules despite their nephew's sulking. You see, he's spending a couple weeks with them while his parents go on vacation. They'd just gifted him a new PS5, and he's been wanting to test it out. The problem is that he doesn't really want to share, and the only TVs available are in common spaces. Scroll down to get his parents' reaction and the drama that follows.
