This is such a complicated situation for a family. To be honest, I think it's better for the child to know initially about her real father. I couldn't imagine the pain, confusion, and betrayal to be an adult and have your family tell you that your father isn't your bio father. It's better to have it open at the beginning.

Grandparents lie to 10-year-old granddaughter that he father doesn't love her, he cancels beach trip with them in retaliation: "I don't trust you alone around my children"
Hi there ladies and gentlemen of the internet. The fourth of July is a favorite for many Americans. It's a holiday of fun, friends, family, and fireworks. Some people have an afternoon backyard bbq, others wait until evening to enjoy the lurid and luscious fireworks under the darkness of the sky. The cool thing about the 4th of July is that it can be celebrated with friends or family, no one is obligated to do anything.
With the addition of fireworks, accidents can easily happen. Fireworks are dangerous, and it's not talked about enough. They can scare animals, or even just explode before they reach the sky. When you're a teenager, there's always that one guys group that wants to buy them just for fun, and see them leap off into the sky.
In the story below, the protagonist is a father who is just trying to have a nice time with his family. There's a family secret that shouldn't be revealed, but his in-laws don't exactly have the tact.
