You have to love how this theoretical scientists who wrote this are essentially blaming engineers and our access to energy for there being no time travel as yet. It is about the pettiest thing we have seen in the science world. Almost as if to say “Hey Engineers, stop messing around on products no one needs or wants and get on with some real work.”, and you know what, they are not totally wrong.
