He was constantly crying at nights outside our apartment building. I don't think he would have made it long because even when I'd walk up to him, he'd run yet keep crying. Any predator would have tracked him down because he would not be quiet.

Turns out he's the friendliest cat I've ever met. Won't let me use the bathroom alone, can't shower without him sitting right in front of the shower. Even if I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, he HAS to wake up and follow me to the toilet and back. Sleeps by me every night. He's such a sweetie. Glad I took him in.

And he had escaped from an owner days prior. I contacted them and told them I'd he willing to buy him off them. Owner said there's no need. They adopted him from a shelter a couple weeks prior and said I could keep him.

theoneandonly_milita How did you catch him? I'm always afraid of outside cats after my mom almost lost an eye trying to carry one

ChainedBack OP I actually wasn't able to. He wouldn't let him near me. But one night I went outside and a neighbor was out with him. Then he let me approach him. So then I grabbed him and brought him in

Tea_For_Storytime I'm happy for you and the cat both OP, but what on earth are those previous "owners"? They adopted him from a shelter just a couple of weeks ago, and when they lose him outside they just what, shake their heads and wash their hands off him? Glad he found you, you sound a mile and a half better than them!

ChainedBack OP Well I mean, I don't know if they put effort into finding him. They very well could have looked for him. He was in a different neighborhood than where they lived. It was nearby but I imagine it's difficult to find a cat if he travels a bit away.

Scooter87942 It looks like he's hired a full time staff!

DragonflyScared813 He's glad op finally came to his senses, and hired this security guard. It's not safe in the bathroom alone lol.

thinking-cat He's a trauma cat and is following you around because he's scared you'll leave him permanently if he can't keep you in his sights What a cutie. I'm sure he's found his forever hooman. He'll feel safe and secure soon enough!

Beneficial-Rub-1061 Glad to know that you saved him (and that I live in a place where the most dangerous predators are humans...). Thanks to be such a compassionate person. I believe that actually both of you were lucky, now you have a loyal cat friend.

swarleyknope Glad he's with someone who would actually care if he went missing It's good you did the right thing & reached out to the owner. Too many people would just assume a cat outdoors was intentionally left out there and just keep it without caring if it was lost & someone was missing him.
