Listening to your favorite record on repeat is a wonderful experience. It's different than having a favorite tune on your Spotify playlist that you hit replay on, or even having that one band that you can't stop jamming out to. Records are old school — they force you to put on an album and listen to it from start to finish. You also have to flip it halfway through, so even then, you need to give the album more attention than you do for other forms of audio media. Compared to digital audio files, they're also quite delicate: you can't dance too hard while they're playing, otherwise they could get damaged. 

Records that skip are infuriating to listen to. If there's just one little scratch that messes up one song, you may still be able to keep that album and just move the needle when that skippy song comes up.
