The simplicity of bygone times is something that is severely lacking in our day and age. Whether you are a child or an adult, there is something lacking in the way we participate in the world today that was very much there in the 50s. Perhaps its the little moments of nothingness between conversations that have now been filled with doom scrolling, who knows.

It is ironic that these were somewhat considered to be time-wasting activities in their time. While now, they would be viewed as interactive brain training games that kids need to be coaxed into doing, instead of flicking their phone screens until the battery runs out.
