There are two types of dog people: the kind that let their dogs on the furniture, and those that don't. Neither is wrong, but you'll never find a family that mixes because once you let your dog on the furniture, there's no going back. We were once "not allowed on the furniture," people. Then, we moved apartments, and our doggo needed something familiar to cling to in order to feel safe. We brought our bed with us, and we saw that she felt safe there, so now she sleeps on the bed. Honestly? We should have done it sooner.

We love watching her sprawl out on the bed, belly up, with a smile on her face as she falls asleep. But that's just our pawsonal preference, there's nothing wrong with wanting your dogs to stay off the furniture. But doggos can be persistent, and some owners have to go to great lengths to keep their puppers off the couch, bed, or, in this case, their favorite chair. The photos below document a dog mom trying to keep her senior doggo off her favorite chair, but no matter what she puts on it to deter him, he finds a way to take a well-deserved nap in his favorite chair. The internet supports him, and so do we. You go ahead and nap there, little buddy, your mom can't stay mad at you for too long anyway.

We're also in this camp. Especially because he's a senior doggo, he probably doesn't have that much time left. There are ways for him to still be on the chair and keep it must cleaner, for example, by putting a sheet or blanket on top of the chair! That way his hair won't get all over it, and he can still enjoy his comfy chair. We do this for our bed and change the blanket every week. Works like a charm!

This one is the real winner. The odds were very slim that he would get in the laundry basket, because although it's a similar shape, it has none of the comfy features that the chair has. So, he took a chance to rest on the top pillow, and it seems to have paid off. That's another win for the doggo, and another loss for mom.
