Person adopts a blind and paraplegic kitten who was run over and left to fend for himself, nurses him back to health and finds the purrfect home for a special-needs cat like him: 'With a lot of love and care, [his] dignity was restored'

We don't know if you all know this, but cats love running in random directions at random points throughout the day for no apparent reason. Just like that. Yup. And street cats, unfortunately, are no different when it comes to that. That's one of the reasons they keep running into the middle of the road. It's why you have to be vigilant and stop if a cat runs in front of your car. But even if the worst happens, if you hit a cat, there is still something even worse that you can do, and that is abandoning the injured cat to fend for itself.

Mistakes happen. We're human, after all. But part of our humanity should mean that if we see an injured cat - whether it's our doing or not, but especially if it's our doing, then we have to help it. You don't just leave the cat outside to suffer. And that is exactly what happened to this poor baby before he was found and saved.

At this point, we want to say that we are surprised, but we are not. Not really. We can only say this: thank you to the person who saved this cat. It's good to be reminded that there are still truly good people out there, doing good, selfless things.

It's fair to admit that you are not fit for a cat with special needs. Not everyone is. But instead of abandoning the cat again, you did the right thing - which is find him a home where he could thrive. We can only hope that more people will take your example.
