Cat pawrent catches neighbor's preteen daughter trying to steal her cat, confronts parents with video evidence from front door camera: 'Her voice was panicked when she talked to me'

There is a lot more to pet ownership than feeding, cuddling, and loving your animal. You are also responsible for how they interact with the outside world. Dogs bark at neighbors, cats wander into gardens, and suddenly your floofy bestie is at the center of some awkward human drama. If you've ever owned an indoor cat who hears a siren song for the outdoor world, you know that it is a mix of both pride and panic. Pride, because they're clever little escape artists, and panic because you know that you can never quite control where they end up and thus keep them safe.

That's the situation this pet pawrent is in right now. When a panicked middle schooler showed up at their front door, towel in hand, struggling to wrangle the adventurous feline, it seemed like a misunderstanding. But when they checked the front door camera, it became clear that the little girl had been trying to catch the cat and carry it back to her house multiple times. Later, they find their cat stuck in a tree, likely after having to run away and escape from the little girl yet again. Now, this cat parent is poised to confront her mom and dad over the kid's behavior, and they have video evidence.

  • Having a Houdini cat isn't easy, but one way to keep them safe is to make sure that they have a GPS chip on them. They may still actually be able to use magic to unlock doors, windows, and latches, but at least you'll know where they are.

    Sketters Make sure your cat is microchipped! Cats are legally considered property so if kitty does end up in their hands you will have easily verifiable proof she is yours.
