Maybe he's trying to come off as a playful older brother type, but he's just not. They don't have the biological relation or history.

Woman kicks brother-in-law out of home after he goes out of his way to annoy her as a guest: '[He made] that horrible screeching sound while staring right at me'
Hosting family can be tricky even when everyone is on their best behavior. My own mother drilled into me the importance of being a welcoming, easygoing, and flexible host. However, when guests start crossing boundaries in your space, things can go downhill fast. If you also add in a bit of entitlement, insensitive jokes, and a total disregard for your comfort, and what was supposed to be a weekend of wholesome family bonding suddenly turns into a stress test of your patience.
One woman recently learned this lesson the hard way when her sister and new brother-in-law decided to extend their one-night visit into a weekend stay. From showing up hours late to bringing cereal to her gluten-free home, the couple didn't exactly prove themselves to be ideal houseguests. But the straw that broke the camel's back came when her brother-in-law deliberately dragged a fork across his plate to get a reaction out of his host after being told about her sensory sensitivities. When she warned him that he'd be kicked out if he ever did it again, the couple packed up early in a huff, leaving our narrator wondering if she overreacted.
