Entitled niece takes over aunt's apartment for 4 years, until aunt demands to have it back: 'It’s time to start planning cause I need my own space!'

Asking for your own apartment back should not be such a big deal.

This aunt was given an apartment by her parents, but she was kind enough to allow her niece to live there temporarily. That was four years ago. The niece is now a fully grown adult with an even greater salary than the aunt. She is certainly in a good enough position to find her own place. Alternatively, she could at least move in with her mother, who lives in the apartment downstairs. That's not such a hardship.

The reason behind the aunt's generosity four years ago was that she stepped into the role of caretaker for her parents while they were getting older and needed assistance. Now, four years later, the aunt wants a space of her own to decompress and take care of her own well-being. This shouldn't be a problem, considering that she has her own apartment in her own name.

However, this suddenly became an issue, despite the fact that she kindly asked her niece if she could find her own place. The niece was, well, not so receptive to the idea.
