Spoiled twin lies to mother about her cousin not letting her use her room or TV, mother takes her anger out on the cousin: ‘I barely go to her house anymore’

A 10-year-old conniving twin decides to lie to her mother about her cousin's pure intentions, which sabotages the cousin and her aunt's relationship moving forward. Can a young child be purposely vindictive? Possibly, but the fault primarily falls on the mother/aunt here.

An adult should know that their child is capable of lying, especially if they have a habit of stretching the truth to get their way. The cousin in the story below explains that at the time of this debacle, they were 17 years old. Their twin cousins were 10 years old at the time, and one of them had a track record of spoiled behavior. Instead of handling situations like an adult, the aunt chooses to treat the cousin like an immoral person, to the point of tears and panic. Looks like there were no adults here. Scroll to read.

  • This cousin visited her aunt's house frequently so she could get away from their strict parents and take a breather. This ended up being one of the last times they'd visit their aunt's house for that reason.  One of the young twins decided to lie to their mom and claim that the cousin wasn't allowing her in her room to use her television, which, of course, was a lie. The aunt clearly believes her daughter can do no wrong and chooses to run with the lie, and aggressively.

I nodded, and my grandma (who was also there) said, "We'll let you know when we clean." A while later, I got a text from my aunt: "Xxxx said you won't let her use the TV or clean the room." I replied, "She didn't say anything.

    Simon-Says6 She seriously was demanding that you mind read. You'd already said OK when they informed you they'd clean the room later. LATER. Now why was the GC lying to her Mom like that? And Auntie seems to have a serious mental / emotional deficiency if she wants you to read her mind. "Look in my crystal ball next time" was the perfect response.

    The ONLY one being rode and disrespectful was aunt. Who does she think she is YELLING at you?!? Especially over something so crazy and unreasonable? Serious control freak, and a very ab ive one. The GC daughter is going to turn out to be a mean girl bu y just like Mom with that kind of example. :-(
