Two months later, she filed for a seven-week leave of absence for (you guessed it) burnout. When her manager expressed shock that she hadn’t spoken up sooner, she slid the write-up across the desk. “The action plan said I couldn’t talk about burnout,” she reminded them.
HR wasn’t amused. Management was reprimanded for creating a hostile environment, she got her seven weeks off with partial pay, and her team had to carry her workload while she recovered.
