19-year-old bride stands up to entitled mother-in-law by having a cereal bar at the wedding, 10 years later and their still happy with their decision: ‘The love of my life.'

There is nothing more satisfying than getting back at an entitled person using something petty and hilarious. In the case of this young bride, she got back at her entitled-mother-in-law with the helpful use of cereal. 

 

Her future MIL was not a problem until her little boy proposed to his girlfriend. They were both young, the new bride being 19 and the groom 24, but for some reason, this was not a problem until she was forced to acknowledge their love. Now, she was competing for the love of her son and both her son and his fiancée were shocked. A form of her they had never seen. 

 

During the wedding planning, the entitled MIL made sure to have a problem with every decision. She even dictated what dress the bride should wear, saying she was going to pay for it, but then only gave her $200. If you have ever shopped for bridal gowns, you know they are WAY more than that. Luckily. this bride had the support of her family and her soon-to-be husband aka the MIL's own son.

  • The joke of having a cereal bar quickly turned into a reality with the entitled MIL “forbid” it. Like, you are not the family dictator… Nothing like some Fruit Loops and Cheerios to get your point across! Not to mention the dress exchange that made the bride happy and the MIL didn't even notice. Shows how much she cared…

  • "The Satin looks cheap" "You look too short." and my favorite insult: "Jim would HATE that dress." Because she was picking the dress, I felt impelled to get the one she liked, even though everyone in my party could tell I didn't care for it.

  • Once my dad and I were talking in a group (consisting of my in laws) about how guests need something to eat prior to the dinner, but after the ceremony (a cocktail hour) and my Dad made the joke that "Sometimes you just really want a bowl of cereal or something." I said that we should have a cereal bar like they have for continental breakfast at a hotel.
