It's almost time to trick or treat, y'all. Have you bought your candy yet? Halloween as a parent is a whole new level of Halloween. You go from being a casual observer to knee-deep in the holiday. You're staying up all night sewing a costume because somehow you're determined to prove that you're a mom who sews homemade costumes. You're dealing with the effects of a Smarties-induced sugar rush in a kid who has face paint on that will definitely stain the carpet. This is the trenches of Halloween as a parent.
