"New neighbor using my trash bin, no where to put my trash now"

Hi everyone. Earlier this month a new neighbor moved in. I live in an area where all of the houses are close together and in its own lot.
  • 03
Not sure exactly how to describe it. This new neighbor litters right next to my house - empty alcohol bottles/cans, a broke glass smoking pipe, they threw a party and there's confetti everywhere.
  • 04
Never cleaned it up. I have a blink camera, and I saw them walking with trash bags, a pizza box and empty drink carton.
  • 05
In the morning I checked, and they put all of that in my trash bin - making my trash bin now completely full.
  • 06
I even have a trash lock, and they took it off and threw it on the ground.
  • 07
I wait until the morning of trash day to put my trash in the bins because we have animals called javelinas that will get into your trash, rip the bags open, and make the trash go everywhere.
  • 08
Even with the trash lock on, the animals still manage to get to the trash. It's horrible to have to clean it up - trash literally everywhere.
  • 09
Now my trash bin is full because of the neighbors illegal dumping, and I have several bags of trash that I need to rid of by Monday morning (trash day).
  • 10
I have contacted the landlord with photos of the evidence, and have not received a response.
  • 11
What can I do? Should I move their trash on their front porch? (I don't know which trash bins are theirs - and yes they do have their own bins) because I have literally no room in my own trash bin for my trash.

Thanks! Side note: On the blink camera I've seen they also used my neighbors trash bins, even dumping furniture in front of their house.
  • 14
I'm assuming they must have filled up the neighbors bins (neighbor has been away, only recently came back and looked confused about all the trash) and decided to use mine.

Divine Radiance83 Toss it in their yard
  • 16
Dangerous_Ant3260 I would dump the trash right over the property line, into their front yard.
  • 17
happiestperson777 I'll probably have to do that. I was worried about them seeing that as an attack or something, but I honestly need to use my trash so I might have no choice but to do that
  • 18
Mymren Can you move the bin to the far side of your house or put it in the garage? What kind of lock was it? Maybe get a combination lock. Wow what a bunch of slugs. You might contact their landlord if it continues.
  • 19
happiestperson777 The houses are really close together, and nobody here has their own backyard. The bins are on the side of my house, right next to my car. I have no garage unfortunately. The trash bin lock doesn't have a combination or anything, it was mainly to prevent animals from getting to the trash. I didn't think humans would get to it too haha! -

I would never use someone else's trash bin, everyone has their own assigned trash bins here, and they are pretty small too. It was just the audacity mainly of them to undo the "lock", and just leave it on the ground. I believe we all have the same landlord.

snootgoo Bring your trash bin up to the house where they won't see it.
  • 22
EDIT: I should have mentioned this; | have no garage, yard and neither do any of the neighbors in this tiny houses area.
  • 23
So no where else to hide the bins unfortunately. UPDATE: Landlord reached out to the neighbor, and the neighbor apologized (according to the landlord) and said they wouldn't use our bin again.
  • 24
Meaning also that they are not taking the trash bins out to the curb on trash day.
  • 25
Apparently they thought they could use any trash bin in the area.
