Woman finds a friendly feline in her workplace parking spot after her two dogs passed the rainbow bridge, takes the cat in to fill the precious pet hole in her house: 'She's definitely not feral'

We have a feeling the Cat Distribution System works double shifts since winter is here now. And it's totally understandable - cats stranded in the cold with no warm place to call home is not a wanted situation. Not for the cats, and also for cat lovers worrying about all the sweet strays wandering the streets in low temperatures. Finding a warm home for a cat is like the most successful mission a person can make - and the CDS does it daily. Now in overtime, since winter has already come.

But it's not only the cats who feel the warmth of home when they're adopted. Humans' hearts might need some warm mending from time to time, and a cat at home is a purrfect solution. Take this one woman from below, who found this cute cat "parking" in her workplace parking spot, just after her two dogs crossed the rainbow bridge. Losing two pets leaves a hole in any pet pawrent's heart - but healing it through a CDS cat adoption is a winter-negating warmth like no other.

  • Seeing a cat like this, alone, outside, when you know temperatures are dropping every day - it's hard to stay indifferent. This sight moves all the heartstrings of a cat person, and every other person as well. This woman was a dog mama up until not long ago - but seeing this lone cat, who's also friendly and looking for affection, can turn every dog person into a cat person.

    OP kitkatkenobi I've seen a fox and coyote in the lot before, they are beautiful animals but I couldn't just walk away and leave her to that. I'm honestly surprised she only had the one little cut.

    Orangecatlover4 Sounds like it was meant to be. Have you come up with a name? If you haven't I would consider "Kismet," or Kiss for short. It means a force, outside of human control, that determines what will happen in the future, a preordained fate. Because it was fate for you guys to cross paths she's darling.

    turnipslop Idk if microchips are a thing where you are, but a trip to the vet would tell you if they have an owner who has chipped them and lost their cat. If they don't have one, then congratulations on your new cat.

    Like if I saw a cat that looked like this, reasonable healthy and clean, I would never think to take it away from where it was. I would assume it's an outdoor cat that lives nearby. But everyone here seems pretty certain this is a homeless cat. Can someone explain why?

    I don't think I could trust I didn't steal someone's pet just because they're not coming forward. I'd assume it's an outdoor cat and the owner thinks it just wandered off far and will come back eventually. Maybe they're old and don't even use the internet like that.

    wildlife are plentiful) with no collar or microchip. I refuse to just steal someone's pet even if they are irresponsible, so I'm giving them a week to step forward and claim her. Animal control would give them 48hrs before they either put her down or put her up for adoption.
