Going to the local shelter to adopt a cat is something we admire. People who choose to adopt a cat are the people we want to meet, shake their hand, tell them how awesome they are, and then go pet their cat they've just adopted. When you open your heart and home like that to a cat in need, you're definitely doing a good deed - and that's admirable.

Usually, when people go to the cat shelter to adopt, they tend to go home with a kitten, or a beautiful long-fur white cat that looks like royalty. Now, there's nothing wrong with adopting one of these - giving a cat a place to call home is an amazing thing to do, regardless of who the cat is. It's just that other types of cats are usually overlooked. Did you know that black cats have a harder time getting adopted? Yes, just because of the color of their fur. Elderly cats are often not even looked at. And some cats can't get adopted because of their size.

But this next gentle giant? He got looked at. And not just looked at, this big cat got adopted after being rejected time and time again just for being a little hefty. But his now forever family realized - his heart is as big as he is.

That is one l o n g cat. It's like he takes all the space. But not in a bad way - this cat takes up all the space, but fills it with gentle love, precious paws, and probably gigantic biscuit making. We wish we had a cat as big as this one.

Another longo bongo! It's like cats' stretchy versions. Maybe this is why some people adopt them? They're so hard to miss - these long cats are so long they take up all the shelter.

He looks so chill. If you're nervous, anxious, or generally feel uneasy, and wonder where all your chill has gone to - know that this cat probably ate it all. That's why he's so large - he's full of calm and collectedness. Yoga teachers should come and learn his ways.

Aww, it really is cute to see cats and dogs getting along so well. Cats and dogs as siblings can go in many ways, but when it clicks - it's one of the most wholesome pet experiences that a person can have. Surely, it helps if the cat is the dog's size… As demonstrated clearly by this gigantic cat.
