'A good Samaritan brought a "stray" into the vet': Lost cat found after eight years of being missing thanks to her microchip, leading to a wholesome Christmas reunion

For this one cat, it took time. A long time. We're talking about eight whole years. Her luck was low, but it didn't run out completely. She was taken care of as a "stray" by a wonderful woman for all of this time. It's unlucky enough for this sweet cat that her instincts to run away kicked in right at the wrong time - so at least she had some luck left, to be taken care of. Being a person who takes care of a stray cat for that long takes a lot of dedication, and surely love for cats. We appreciate this woman so much.

And she took care of this cute cat so dutifully that she took her to the vet in a time of need - and this is where they discovered she's cipped. Not long after, the cat came back to a wholesome reunion with her original cat mama.

  • Aww, she has the vet's lamp pawtection. We know she might be scared here in this picture, but she's in good hands - the loving hands that adopted her, and after being taken care of by a veterinarian. All in all, it's a happy picture, and the cat is adorable. Also, you can see that she was well fed… All thanks to the lady who took care of her for all these years when she was “lost”. Now that she's found - at least we all know she's alright.

    Thats Crap Tastic I've always felt the universe always works towards a balance. If it's too hot somewhere, it ends up too cold somewhere else.   • Exactly - go microchips! They literally save cats' lives (and any other pet's life). They are a compass for the lost, when these pets, who cannot talk and cry for help, need help the most.

    For everyone reading if a cat shows up, feed and care for it, but if it shows up at your door it's likely someone's current or former pet, ASAP take it to the vet or notify your local sheriff or animal shelter, and certainly before 8 years. that's long time to be with a human without veterinary care.

    I have a similar story. My cat went missing. I searched the neighborhood, I handed out flyers, put an ad in the paper and Craigslist. Nothing. At one point, I moved away for work, but my parents still lived in the area.

    I got a call from the microchip company six years later that he'd been found. Someone took him in and kept him, but when they moved, they abandoned him. A good Samaritan tried to take care of him, but eventually called animal control.
