It's a little bit hard to say, based on looking at these pictures alone, what exactly this person has adopted. The clues can be interpreted in a whole bunch of ways. But… according to an interview this person gave to Newsweek, this woman, who thought the same thing as the rest of the commenters under her video - that this was a regular bobtail kitty - took the cat to the vet for a checkup, and it was the vet who told her that the kitty was a mix between a bobcat and a stray. The vet told her that if the kitty does not get aggressive, she has the green light to keep it.

Things are never that simple, of course, and unfortunately, before she could get confirmation about whether this cat truly was a bobcat or not, he ran away. So… this woman no longer owns the cat. But she did continue and say that four months after running away, the kitty came back as "his full-grown bobcat self." At that point, he was a wild animal, nowhere near being a pet, and causing some trouble. "He’s come as close as 20 feet from us just a couple of weeks ago and snagged a duck," she said. "So we chased him throughout our neighborhood, trying to find where his den or home was and never found it."

We suppose we'll never know whether this boobcat was the original cat that they had adopted. The woman believes that she recognized it, but there is a chance that these were two random unrelated encounters. Still, we choose to believe. Because thinking that someone had adopted a baby bobcat, even for a short while, makes us so ridiculously happy, we cannot even explain it. Would be happy if this happened to us, just sayin'.
