Nervous chow chow ran away from home after being spooked, sparking a full day of frantic searching around his local village, until he was found close to home chewing on a bottle: ‘He was overjoyed to see my husband, and willingly followed him home’

Dog rescues come in all shapes and sizes. And this one comes in quite the large fluffy size, though you would not know it for the way things went down. For this was not any ordinary escape, you know the kind where a doggo thinks they know how to handle themselves in the outside world and wants to test their metal.

This was a stress and panic induced escape brought on by a fear of cars and a fear of the dog's pawrents' roommate who happened to be in a car at the time (yes, double trouble). But that also meant that this rescue could not be carried out by the first hooman on the scene (the roommate who unwittingly caused the kerfuffle). No, it took both pawrents leaving their work early to get on the hunt for their escaped hound. Thankfully, once the pupper had calmed down and realized that it was in relatively familiar surroundings it posted up in a familiar spot and settled in to play with some trash until someone found him. Which for all his misgivings, still ought to earn him the title of good boy.

You know what they say about the power of attraction, sometimes if you worry too much about a certain outcome happening, that is exactly what will happen. And loe and behold, for all their efforts and planning for how to park their cars and close the doors to keep the dog from escaping, the dog escaped. A tragic thing to happen, but nonetheless one which might have been a product of over worrying.

Oh goodness the poor housemate. How much do you have to care in order to feel so responsible for a dog that lives in fear of you? Likely quite a lot and thank goodness this roommate cared so much. Otherwise who knows what might have happened to this runaway pupper. Though it cannot have been fun to get such a stress-filled call while at work.
