And now, for our favorite sub-genre of this sub-genre (Which makes a sub-sub-genre? We're not entirely sure…) - cats sitting on laptops. It's got the same vibe of cats fitting in boxes and tight spaces they're not supposed to get to, but still do. Because, are they supposed to lie on a laptop's keyboard? Nope. But do they? Absolutely yes. It's just that this time, instead of the cat's unclear desire to fit themselves into a tiny space they clearly can't fit (But still do somehow), they sit on the warmest spot that's closest to their hooman. Now, that's a much clearer goal.
When a cat sits (And fits) on your laptop, it's their way of both acting on the ancient art of “If I fits, I sits”, and trying to get as close as possible to their favorite hooman. It's kind of ameowzing how our cats will always find a way to try and get closer to us. Even if it is by the logic of “That's where my hooman's hands are, and this is such a warm spot, so I'll just hop on so they'll pet me on this warm and cozy spot.”
