'I asked the universe for an especially cuddly one': A household no more cats rule ends when a pawrent spots an orange cat waiting to be rescued on the side of a busy road

An orange cat sat in the middle of school traffic and decided he was going home with someone that day.

A busy intersection full of after-school traffic is a scary place for a small cat, but that's exactly where Biscuits was sitting, trying to get adopted. As kids poured out of school, he walked up to them like a tiny ambassador, clearly hoping someone would take the hint and take him home. One passerby spotted him while rushing to pick up her son from work. She couldn't stop in that moment, but the image of the orange kitty standing there stuck. The whole drive was spent hoping he wouldn't wander into traffic before she could get back.

When she returned, he was still there, waiting in the same spot, as if the universe had paused the scene. It felt like confirmation. This was the cat she'd asked for, the especially cuddly one she'd jokingly requested despite a household rule of "no more cats." Biscuits didn't look lost. He looked determined. He had picked his corner and was interviewing families.

At that point the choice didn't feel optional. A cat that committed to being seen like that wasn't going to be ignored twice. He'd stayed through noise and chaos, trusting someone would circle back. The especially cuddly cat she'd asked for was sitting right there, still waiting.

Now he's off the roadside and inside, warm and safe. Biscuits didn't wander into a rescue. He campaigned for one and won.

That little guy has future mega-floof written all over him. You can already see the fluff plotting its expansion. In a few months he’s going to puff out into a full cloud with legs and act like he’s always looked that majestic. Prepare for fur on everything and a tail with its own zip code.
