Heartbroken couple reunited with their once stolen dog who’d been missing for 11 years after she was dumped at a shelter 3 hours from home for being too old, mom says: ‘As soon as they brought her in to see us, it was as if she remembered us.’

You might have thought that it would be impossible to reunite a dog with its original owners after 11 years apart. But as you'll come to find in this story, it is not only possible, it has actually happened before.

Now, we cannot say that this is some sort of everyday occurrence. As though left and right lost and stolen doggos are finding their way home to their pawrents. It would be a delightful thing to happen but it is simply not in the cards. But when it does happen, even on the rare occasion it is a cause for celebration and with this post, celebrate we shall.

We gathered you here to celebrate the resilience of a couple who while mourning the loss of their dog, stayed strong and together and went on to save several other puppers in need. We celebrate their love, dedication and appreciation for the plight of abandoned puppers. And much to our delight and joy we celebrate their reunion with their original dog. Some might say that they have more than earned this reunion after years of hoping and putting in the work. So the moral of the story is to never stop holding out hope, the universe works in mysterious ways.

Wow, what a heartbreaking way to lose your dog. The worst thing about it, and what makes it worse than simply losing your dog while out for a walk, is that you will never quite know how it happened. Was the dog stolen, did it slip out after someone left the door open. You will spend the rest of your guilt ridden days imagining the different scenarios that could have resulted in your poor pupper’s disappearance. Though we have to say it is impressive this couple managed to stay together through such a trying and tough loss. Not many would have made it.

Yeah we are not surprised, after all, we read about this story and had to share it with all of you. Moments like this are so rare, so heartwarming and so unique that the world deserves to know they exist. Some call them miracles, others call them happenstance. But no matter what you call them, we can all agree that they make life worth living, they make the pain of old scars ease, knowing that there is a chance, however slim it may be, that all you could ever want in life will happen. All you have to do is hold out hope.
