A Purrfect Comedy of Cats Awaiting Great Giggles and HeHeHes

Snickering is a new cat love language, so snicker away. 

Laughter is the best medicine, so they say. If you really believe something then it can be true. Cats are natural born laughter machines, they're gigglers, snickerers, and comedic genius. Humor is innate to their whiskers, pointed ears, and fur. What do you think they're doing when they knock your keys off the table? They're laughing behind your back! And speaking of comedy, Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors is one of his earliest and most chaotic plays. It's exponentially more and more chaotic and confusing, hence its title. It's built entirely around confusion, mistaken identity, and absurdity. Antipholus of Ephesus and his identical twin Antipholus of Syracuse are separated in infancy. Unaware that their other half exists wandering around with the same face and DNA in the same city, they cross paths, with in turn causes the decline of everyone's known reality. Ordinary interactions become intertwined with absurdity, confusion, and dissociation. 

The play ultimately is about reunion and restoration. Though it lacks a certain poetic depth compared to his later works, it's still precise and genius in its comedic timing, its themes of identity and self-knowledge, and slapstick humor. The confusion resolves when the twins are finally brought together, revealing the truth of their identities. And even if you're not a huge Shakespeare fan, you can still get behind the notion that laughter is the best medicine. Cats give us joy, they give us laughter, and they like to laugh themselves. Not everything has to be hard, a giggle a day goes far.

  • Everyone loves to laugh, but I think it's something that soothes me more than others. I've always been acknowledged for my loud, energetic laugh. My whole life it's been semi-controversial. Either you love it or you hate it, and people seem to love it a lot. I could be sitting at a cafe with a friend, and someone next to us will tell me that my laugh is contagious and filled with real joy and life. It's important to embrace these parts of us, and let our natural inclinations for noise, expression, and joy exonerate from us.
