You should always treat the guests you invite into your home with respect. Only if respect is given back to you, that is.

It's no surprise to anyone that there is an epidemic of bad communicators in this digital age. Social media and smartphones generally lessen our abilities to regulate ourselves emotionally, develop our grasp of patience, and, overall, know how to talk to people face-to-face.

This is evident in younger generations' inability to know when they can and can't say certain things. The "now now now" mentality of smartphones, where all information is at our fingertips, makes certain people unable to take "no" for an answer.

The father in this next story refuses to be the victim of a kid who demands they get what they want, as soon as possible. Do you find that you come across more ungrateful people as the days pass? If there's one thing we all learn at one point or another, it's that life isn't fair, kiddo. As a guest in someone's home, it's crucial to also treat them with respect, because you're under their roof. The dad graciously purchased a round of bagels for the kids because he wanted them to have a good breakfast. What should've been a good deed and yummy experience turned into a parental issue.
