And you know the craziest thing? We know this. Every cat owner learns this very, very early on. Especially in the beginning, we are in such a rush to buy them all the coolest things, the most expensive and fanciest things, and right away, they let us know that they are far more interested in the boxes that these things came from than the things themselves. Yet… and here comes the crazy part: we keep buying them these things anyway. We have learned our lesson, but… what if they like that $200 cat tree? Maybe we should try that one. Yes. Yes, we definitely should.

You think it's funny when you see a picture like this, because you can clearly see the kitty in the sink, but this is true. They are the darkness. Having a black cat is a different kind of cat ownership experience. Because sometimes, you really don't see them, and you sit on your dark couch in the middle of the night and realize, a second too late, when screams tear through the silence, that you sat on your cat. And other times, you think that you see them when in reality, you have just spent the past five minutes making cooing noises at a black T-shirt with buttons.
