"You are not like the poor people with their garish primary colors."
As a kid you remember bouncy castles as being colorful and chaotic. All the kids in the neighborhood would pack into one air-filled contraption the size of a bedroom and it was the highlight of any child's life. Those rosy memories are now being change by the bourgeoisie with the newest craze in over-priced children's birthday party items—an all-white monochromatic bouncy castle.
It's not only giving off existential crisis, but also padded room/straitjacket vibes. Viral TikToker @sadbeige has taken it upon herself to voice over her version of the ad for this children's item, and it's hilarious. Giving it the designer name of Werner Herzog, the serious Germany dramatic film director, she says “it's perfect for birthday parties to remember the emptiness of existence.”
The trending video features a photo of the bouncy castle with a single baby sitting in the middle, nothing else around them, looking sad. “You do not hoot and holler. No, you sit sedate; thinking, contemplating instead of playing," she describes the depressing scene. “For what is contem-play-tion, but the play of the mind.”
