Going to the vet's with your cat is always an adventure.

If you have ever owned a cat, then you know that one of the worst parts of it is having to take your cats to the vet. Simply because cats hate the vet, and we hate doing things that they hate. Of course, there are the occasional exceptions - cats who purr at the vet's and all that, but generally speaking, cats don't like the experience. Cats hide at the vet's. Cats go crazy at the vet's. Cats want the whole thing to be over as soon as possible.

The vets love the cats, of course. Even the spiciest cats will have the vets cooing at them. Because that is what vets are. They love animals, and they are awesome people, but… they also have to be honest. In their notes to about the cats themselves, in the warnings that they leave for the other vets who will have to deal with your cats in the future, they have to say the truth. For the better or worse. Some cats, the vets will say are amazing. Because they are. And other cats… other cats will be shamed in your vet's notes to the point that you, as the owner, will feel just a little bit ashamed as well. While you are also laughing.

To have your vet call your cat handsome or perfect has to be one of the most gratifying feelings. Not that we've ever felt it. We're just guessing. Our cats have always been little demons at the vet's, and you know what? We like it that way. Because the few times that we have been with them at the vet's, and their spiciness was not present, those were also the worst times at the vet's, when they were the sickest and the most in pain. If your cat is spicy at the vet's, that is exactly how it should be, and you, as the owner, should be proud of it, not shamed by it.

If facts, even the vets who call your cats spicy will tell you that them being spicy is actually pawsome. Our last time at the vet's with our cat, when she truly fought them like the room was a battlefield, when the vet came out with a bandage on her hand, she's the first one who told us that a ten-year-old kitty fighting like this is a great sign for the state of her health.
