'I spent months working on gaining this cat's trust': Stripped kitty abandoned just before winter, good guy puts in the hours to save his kitty soul

Cats are known for their fickle temperament, even if it means someone trying to save them.

This little cat was abandoned on the street just before winter. It takes a really wholesome and good-hearted person to put in the hours to gain the cat's trust just to save his life. Most people would turn a blind eye, but not him. And this little guy finally had the trust built to come inside his home. Now that the hard part is over, he can do all the logistic things like vet appointments, and getting him situated. He named this kitty Chickpea! It's important that this cat has a sacred home after being abandoned. It's really no easy feat to gain the trust of an abandoned cat, and it's incredible that he did. Read the full story below.

Winning the heart of an abandoned cat is priceless. Cats are known to be absolutely fickle creatures, and when they've been tossed to the streets it will make them even harder to get to know. It doesn't happen all at once, and it can't be rushed. There's a distance at first, a watchful gaze from across the street. The cat could react poorly to any sort of initiation of affection, so it's better to keep things at a distance. Being tossed to the side in the winter is even worse. Imagine being a little kitty just trying to keep warm in the frosty cold, but you have nowhere to go. It's heartbreaking to even think about.

I wonder what this guy's action plan was to get this striped boy into his home. He must've gotten curious at some point, must've decided that he can't take the cold anymore, and that even the arms of a stranger seemed warmer and more appealing than the horrid outside. It's springtime now, and that means growth and renewal. That's what makes this story so symbolic: they both really had their own paths of growing and developing, and they came into each other. The bond deepens more because this guy really worked for it. He chose this kitty, and the kitty eventually, and maybe even reluctantly, chose him. Enjoy this wholesome tale.
