It should come as no surprise to anyone who has ever worked in a customer-facing role that the culprit of this pandemonium was the customer. Yes, of course there are scenarios in which service workers make innocent mistakes, but this time, we're dealing with someone who couldn't fathom the possibility of the customer not being in the right.
This thought process that many of us were told when we were little, that the customer is always right, is and has always been beyond problematic. After all, no one is always right, and just because you paid for a hotel room or for a delivery service does not mean that you are somehow absolved of anything that could happen. Of course, it was the service workers in this scenario who had to deal with the consequences of this customer's negligence. A sensible person would apologize after being proven incorrect, especially after she stirred up such a fuss over her order. But alas, we are clearly not dealing with a sensible individual here.
