These days, with TikTok, Instagram reels, and the constant urge to consume everything now, it's become harder to sit down with a long story without setting it aside halfway to check something else, leaving it unfinished.

But what a moment when you get completely pulled in by a book! The outside world fades into the background, and the only thing that matters is turning the next page to find out what happens next in the story. That story, fictional or not, is the only reality you're in at that moment. And that's just fascinating.

Personally, I used to read a lot when I was younger. I loved fantasy novels about vampires and fallen angels, and the first fictional character I got emotionally attached to was a fallen angel named Patch, who was like the most incredible guy ever. Yeah, my one and only man. Today, I try to make time for reading, even though it's not as effortless as it used to be. When I was a teenager, I could read an entire book in the same day. I would stay up late reading under dim light, telling myself I'd leave the next chapter for another day. Now, that feels harder to pull off.

Adulthood doesn't exactly help. In adult life, people usually work or study, or both. So finding time to read can be challenging. That's why I still try to keep reading anyway. I don't want to lose it.

I always try to keep my to-be-read list up to date. I look for more titles by authors I like, so there's always a new book waiting for me. It doesn't matter if they stay there on the shelf for too long, quietly judging me from the corner. I just like making sure I'll never run out of stories. And they'll be waiting for me there when I have the time.
