There is a reason why cats always have and always will rule the internet, and that is simply because every single cat picture in the world makes us smile.

Cats rule the internet. Even people who claim not to like cats know this for the fact that it is. Cats on the internet have an effect on people like nothing else does. It's funny cat videos that go viral each and every day. It's silly cat memes that are on every single corner of every single platform online. It could be heartwarming cat stories that grab people's attention and get straight into their hearts every single day. All of these things have the same effect on us. All of these things distract us from the real world and make us smile.

The person who posted these silly pictures of her tuxedo cat on r/cats did it with the express hope that seeing these pictures will make people smile at least a hint of how much they make her smile. She didn't realize that this was a given. She also could never have known just how many people on the internet would see these images and have their frowns turn upside down in a single moment.

This is literally what having a cat means. Every single day, even when things are the worst that they have ever been, there is this tiny creature in your home that brings sunshine and warmth into it. They don't even have to do anything. All they need to do is exist. We look at them living their adorable, simple, spoiled little lives, and we smile. Every single day. It really is that simple. And the reason that we love seeing pictures of other people's cats as well is that it feels like we get to feel some of the joy that they experience of their cats ourselves too.

We definitely, definitely feel the joy. We feel it every time we see a picture of a cute cat online, but with a kitty as goofy and adorable as this one, we feel it even more. Please share more pictures when you can. We love this silly little tux.
