That's true! It's not just a rumor - science suggests that cat purrs have healing and therapeutic properties. Cats purr at a frequency between 25 and 150 Hertz - a range that has been shown to aid in the repair of bones, tendons, and muscles, as well as reduce pain and inflammation. These frequencies can help improve bone density, stimulate tissue regeneration, and accelerate wound healing. But it's not just our bones - the rhythmic sound and vibration of a purr trigger the release of endorphins (the body's natural painkillers) and lower stress hormones like cortisol. This relaxation response helps lower pressure and may even reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Cats are simply the best little healers, and we love them for it.

Well, she has a point. Cats are willing to tolerate a lot from the people they love, including extra cuddles than necessary, or sweet face smooshes they somehow allow their pawrents to do. So even a simple lack-of-gesture by ignoring the “oh my gosh I have to squeeze this creature” sentiment we sometimes express towards our cats actually shows a lot of love towards us.
