Woman begs the CDS to send her a cat, little does she know that her husband is working with a shelter "behind the scenes" to rescue and adopt the sweetest pregnant cat from a hoarder's house: '[They] fed her ramen noodles'

Maybe the CDS doesn't always listen to our calls, but if we have good partners, they will definitely hear us. 

The thing about the CDS is that it does whatever it wants to do. You could call out to the system for years and have it ignore you. You could call for it once, and it will send a kitten running. Or you could not call out to it at all, you could be someone who hates cats completely, but if the system deems you worthy, you will be chosen. 

When MarthaMatildaOToole on r/CatDistributionSystem called out to the CDS, she was probably hopeful but not expectant. Because, as a cat person, she knew that the system does whatever the system wants. What she didn't know was that someone else was listening to her calls, and that someone was… her husband. 

When we read about couples fighting over their cats, with the cats causing some kind of tension between them, all we want is to show them stories like these. Why would you ever settle for fighting over your pets when you can have a husband like this one? A husband who hears you ask for a cat and then does something about it? And no, he didn't just bring his wife a tiny kitten from a shelter. He went out of his way to give a home to a cat who actually really needed one. 

The husband helped the shelter rescue Maya - a cat found in a hoarder's home. There, she was fed ramen noodles instead of cat food, because the donated cat food they had was used to feed their dogs. On top of that, somehow, Maya managed to get pregnant. She needed a new home, a good home. And this man's wife ended up getting more than the one cat that she asked for. She got a cat full of other cats.

    TheSwearJarlsMy401k If they were feeding her ramen noodles, be prepared for kitten loss. I know that's not what you want to hear, but that kind of nutrient deprivation while pregnant causes all kinds of developmental problems. No matter what happens, you have done your best, you've given mama and babies love and hope, and that's the best anyone can do. I hope they're all in good health and in good shape!

    Martha MatildaOToole OP Oh yeah they said that could happen she is very skinny. I will try not to get too excited bc that would be heartbreaking but we will definitely do our best. She's got 4 kinds of food out for her now, trying to fatten her up. Thank you for the tips!!

    AudioxBlood Can you not take her in for a spay abort? Instead of her going through birth to bring more cats into the world when there is already too many, knowing her malnutrition before coming to you could do serious damage to the kittens or her.
