Working from home sounds peaceful until your cat decides your desk is no longer a workspace. It is a cat bed or their personal throne, but it's apparently not yours anymore. You may be busy and have deadlines, emails, and a packed to-do list, but your feline coworker has other plans. 

Those plans usually involve sitting in front of your computer screen and looking confused about why you still expect to get anything done. The second you start to be productive, they show up, stepping over your keyboard, sitting on your notes, blocking your screen, or knocking your pen to the floor. Then they settle as if they have just completed an important office task. And honestly, they have. They are making sure you take breaks. After all, no spreadsheet is more important than giving them attention right now. 

What makes cats the best worst coworkers is that, sure, they may interrupt your workflow and steal productivity. Sure, they might send a mysterious message or delete what you were doing. But they also make your workday a lot softer, and you know that. Without them around, you'd feel like something is missing. Cats make us feel less lonely, and may be a distraction, but definitely a lovely one. They act as a reminder that life exists outside the screen, and by life, they mean something that is fluffy, has paws, and needs cuddles and treats. Your inbox can wait. 

And they will always choose the most inconvenient spot possible. Not the empty chair or the soft blanket on the couch. Not the cozy bed you bought for them. No, they want the exact place where your hands need to be. The keyboard, the mousepad, the laptop, or whatever is between your face and the screen.
