Save_Bandit_69 If they have short hair and you plan on being outside for any period of time, some doggy sunscreen is definitely necessary. They also have doggy sun hats that will protect their little faces. If it's not an off leash beach, make sure you bring a nice long leash so they can run. Most of all, have fun!!

umbrella11 I would check local dog + beach laws. We had to purchase a tag for the dog (verify rabies etc) and observe dog hours. Otherwise, I would give each dog a good rinse to get salt water off and towel dry. Mine LOVED to retrieve in the waves! Have fun!

Long Audience4403 This is the most important advice. I've only been able to take my dog to the beach on the off season.

RestlesslyWizardly Long leash Portable water Towels to dry them on the beach IDK your dogs but I always bring pet stain remover just incase. Especially to airbnb

I try to avoid toys to avoid resource guarding or another dog causing issues by trying to get to the toy. I can trust my dogs to act right but other dogs- can't risk a fight being deadly.

If you need to wash them from sand and the beach find a tractor supply co. They have a fully kitted out self dog wash for $10 and you can stay in there as long as you want.

They have blow dryers too- me and my husband take the dogs to one of these after every trip because I can't stand sand or knowing there's ocean water on them in my bed.

vicariousgluten I live in the UK so most of our time on the beach is in hat, scarf and gloves having a nice walk so sunscreen etc isn't a huge issue.

Make sure you take plenty of water. Mine always tries to drink from saltwater puddles. Also be aware of what's on the beach. If you're somewhere that palm oil washes ashore then make sure you know what that looks like and keep your dog away. It's a major skin irritant

PuzzleheadedLemon353 Not to be a downer, but have you checked to make sure the dogs are allowed on the beach? Where I live we can only carry them on the beach

during certain months of the year, and they have to be leashed. We do have inlet island beaches we can take our boat to, so they can be 'real dogs' and run and swim...like doggies like to do! I would just

hate for you to get there and see a No Dogs allowed sign up...that would s k! Bring lots of water, a towel to dry them, some favorite snacks, and balls and frisbees. I also bought doggie sunscreen for my dogs snout, to protect her from any burn.

Ok-Resident-4031 OP No your good & yeah we checked. I thought it was wild that you can only be on the beach at certain times with dogs, it does make sense though I guess.

[deleted] A shade tent with refreshments for the puppers just in case there are spots to retreat from the sun!

Mbwapuppy Put life jackets on the dogs if they're going into the water, unless there's a very specific reason not to do so.

The-Sugarfoot If they have a wash station on the beach and will allow, I'd give them a good rinse at the end of the day.

This is actually kind of important if they get in the water. You need to wash the salt off them.

It will also lessen the amount of sand they drag back into the car and hotel room.
