But we're talking about the supernatural magic-y way of using the word. We can't really know for sure, maybe ever, if there's a supernatural aspect of cat adoptions that makes them truly out of this world. But we know for certain people talk about the Cat Distribution System like it's a real deal, but also… not real? Let us explain.

Nobody knows what the Cat Distribution System actually is, but it's usually referred to as the meowsterious body, entity, or shadow organization that makes all these magical cat adoptions possible. Whenever people mention them, we think of them like the elite secret agents in The Coincidence Makers book, whose job is to shape people's destinies through meticulously planned events. It's a behind-the-scenes sort of work, but it seems like they make it happen time and time again.

Take u/manytractorprojects's story, for example -  he was just talking to his partner about not necessarily wanting to adopt another cat after their senior buddy will eventually pass over the rainbow bridge. But apparently, the CDS heard it all and noted it immediately, flagging it for immediate action. And just like that, the couple finds a kitten that was hiding in the walls of their house. Is it a coincidence, or is it a meticulous plan executed by… who knows?

You see? This is why we can't make up our minds about the matter. Because if there really is a supernatural aspect to cat adoptions, it's very apparent, allegedly. But how could we be sure it's the job of the CDS? Maybe cats are magical creatures, and we were just blind to the fact all along? And if that's true, and magic really does exist in the world in the form of cats, do we even need fantasy books at all?
