What’s the quickest way you've managed to shut down a difficult boss or coworker with a clever comeback? How did they react afterward?

Reading through this story, I think the employee thinks of this figurine much like a talisman. The day he takes it from his desk is the day he gets a raise, and the day he decides to figure out how much it’s worth is the day when the flooding happened, so by force majeure the figurine always gets the starring role. If I were him, I’d keep it as an amulet.

Just yesterday I was thinking about the objects that survived my many house moves. I moved like 6 times in my own country, and then I moved to another country, and there is stuff that’s still here with me, and it’s been there in all my houses. Aside from my books, which I cherish, there are seemingly random objects that survived everything, even if they were ridiculous, like the plastic finger I once found in the street and now use as a wall key holder that I call ‘Thing’. Maybe those are my talismans, lol.
