Kitten living in a factory that's about to shut down finds her way into a worker's arms, and purrs the whole way to her forever home.

Kittens sometimes find themselves in the most bizarre places before they get adopted.

They say the Cat Distribution System works in mysterious ways, but sometimes - it pits a person against the harsh reality a cat is about to go through, even if they knew them beforehand. Usually, the CDS just sends a cat in need to the arms of a human who will give them the forever home they deserve, through adoption or fostering. But what if the cat was your co-worker and you knew them before?

Well, sort of. You see, u/BMFresearch worked in a factory that had some cats living in it - working as rodent reducers, and probably enjoying the heat of machinery when they wanted a cozy nap. But then, the factory was closing down. No more humans to care for them, and no more safe places to hide. What should a cat do? In this case, get promoted from a co-worker to a roommate, apparently.

This man wasted no time and scooped a cute little kitten from the resident bunch, and she accepted the promotion with purrs and snuggles. We love it when a cat in need of a home is on their way to one - where we know they'll be loved and cared for. And this kitten is no different. She's going to be the house's purring princess, we're sure.

  • By what he tells here, it wasn't just a one-person operation about a single kitten. It seems that many people from around the factory, now former employees, are going around and looking for their feline co-workers so they can assign them their new house cat roles. If this is the wholesome situation we think it is - our hearts are already pre-melted. These people might not have saved their jobs, but they saved a lot of cats' lives - and that's ameowzing. If there's a thing like karma in this world, a lot of good things are waiting for them along the way. They, and their now-cats, deserve all the good things coming.

  • These eyes are everything. This kitten is absolutely adorable, and the way she looks at the human taking her home with pure adoration - that's just 100% wholesomeness. We're so happy to see this kitten like that.

    BMFresearch OP Oh she has been sleeping a lot. I've been checking up on her every 20 minutes with my Wi-Fi camera I set up. She's a big fan of the kitten wet food as well.

    OmnomVeggies That is fair, it is a good opportunity to feel out her personality a little more too. I have a cat at my house named Grey Cat because I was determined not to get attached so I was NOT going to be giving him a name. I tried to rename him when I started paying vet bills and he started sleeping inside, but it never really stuck.

    We one day heard a bunch of mewing from the basement and found TWO kittens in it?!? We fostered them until we could find something more permanent bc we already had two cats and a dog.
