Feral cat guilt-trips his chosen humans into adopting him by sitting outside their door in the pouring rain and refusing to look for shelter, so after weeks, they finally cave and regret every second they didn't take him sooner

He sat outside our window like this for weeks before we caved and added him to the indoor kitty family!
  • 05
It breaks my heart to look at past pictures of him, he was just so sad and clearly asking for help. ☑

Yes he spent a lot of time by our window looking in!! We take care of a colony of feral cats, giving them food, water, shade, sleeping boxes with blankets, catnip treats, and heating pads in the winter.
  • 08
All things considered it's a happy colony and a lot of them are now really tame and content. The other cats are more or less happy outside but this little guy just wanted INSIDE.

There was one rainy day before we adopted him where he just sat in the rain looking in and refusing to take cover. I let him in that day and he took a nice nap inside before our kitties found him and started harassing him.
  • 10
It was a while between that and adoption.. we had to legally make sure we posted his photo everywhere to make sure he didn't already belong to someone.. then took him to the vet and got him all fixed up, teeth and all.
  • 11
Then once he was all healed up a few weeks later we were way too attached to let him go. So grateful he's ours now, he's the absolute chillest cat, so mild mannered and adores our baby and laying in our laps.
  • 12
He's the best cat, I was heartbroken we might not be able to keep him at first.. we had just had a human baby and our two indoor cats didn't get along with him at ALL.
  • 13
Once we got him fixed, and he'd been inside recovering a while from his surgeries to extract his painful rotted teeth, they eventually came around and started tolerating him better.
  • 14
Initially we were trying to find a home where he wouldn't get beat up by the resident cats.. luckily our other two cats eventually calmed down and have accepted him as their sibling!
  • 15
Such a relief, it was really hard for a while. We wanted to find him a happy home where he'd be spoiled, and well here he is! D

flock_of_electrons OP Yesss he's so greatly loved. All he wants to do is sit by me and the baby and soak up petting. Baby is obsessed with feeding him treats so she's his favorite now

    Jaded-Customer8944 He looks so happy☺

flock_of_electrons OP He is!! He's the best chillest chunky cat and spends all day napping on his back, requesting pets, getting fed treats by our baby, or watching birds at our bird feeder. We're so lucky to get to spoil him rotten!

PhoebeKillian2022 He is so happy to be home!

flock_of_electrons OP So happy!! When we took him to the vet they told us he had a ton of really painful rotten teeth that needed extracted, plus ears full of mites. I think he's so relieved to not be in pain anymore, and grateful to never have to worry about getting enough food or pets again③②D
